Ronald J. Rosenberg

With a reputation for being an effective and articulate advocate on behalf of his clients, Ronald J. Rosenberg has built a successful law practice over the past 42 years, concentrating on commercial litigation and transactions, real estate, municipal, zoning and land use law.

Mr. Rosenberg began his career as an associate with a Manhattan law firm before starting his own Garden City law firm in 1979, the Law Offices of Ronald J. Rosenberg. Thereafter he formed his current firm, Rosenberg Calica & Birney LLP in 1999.

Mr. Rosenberg has personally argued over 100 state and federal appeals, including cases before New York’s highest state court, the New York State Court of Appeals, and New York’s highest federal court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. He has also represented and handled hundreds of cases on behalf of clients in the various trial level courts throughout the New York metropolitan region.

He has been awarded the Martindale-Hubbell® AV Preeminent™ Rating, presenting the highest possible rating in both legal ability and ethical standards, and has been named annually to the “Super Lawyers” list. He served as the former Chair of the Banking Committee and as a former member of the Judiciary Committee of the Nassau County Bar Association which reviews the qualifications of judicial candidates and determines if such candidates are well qualified or not to be judges. He has also been selected by various judges to serve as Special Referee, Referee, Receiver, Counsel to Receiver and Special Master.

On April 1, 2020, Mr. Rosenberg was appointed for a four-year term as a commissioner on the eleven person New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct which is the independent state agency that reviews all complaints of ethical misconduct made against the 3,500 judges and justices of the New York State Unified Court System and if the Commission determines that a judge has committed judicial misconduct, it may direct that the judge be privately cautioned, publicly admonished, publicly censured, removed from judicial office or retired for disability.

Mr. Rosenberg graduated from Hofstra University in 1975 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and from St. John’s University School of Law in 1978 with a Juris Doctor degree. He is also admitted to practice in Florida.
